Crafting Authenticity: The Story of Arakawa’s Osaka-Style Omakase

In the heart of Singapore's vibrant dining scene, Arakawa stands as a testament to authentic Japanese cuisine, offering a dining experience that transports patrons straight to the heart of Osaka. Collaborating with Arakawa, I took on the responsibility of managing their social media content creation, strategy, and daily management, aiming to authentically showcase their culinary artistry and the atmosphere that makes this establishment a treasured destination for Japanese food enthusiasts.

The Vision Behind Arakawa

Helmed by Chef Seiichiro Arakawa, the restaurant embodies the spirit of traditional Japanese dining, emphasizing fresh ingredients, meticulous preparation, and a harmonious balance of flavors. Chef Arakawa’s passion for bringing authentic Japanese cuisine to Singapore shines in every dish, reflecting his dedication to craftsmanship and tradition.

Crafting the Visual and Social Narrative

Our collaboration was twofold: to visually capture Arakawa’s dishes and ambiance while also building a strong online presence that would resonate with both local and international followers. Through careful photography and videography, I highlighted the intricate details, the elegance of the plating, and the restaurant’s tranquil atmosphere, while creating a consistent social media strategy that told Arakawa’s story across platforms. Each post and visual was crafted to echo the authenticity and refinement that make Arakawa so unique.



Highlighting the Signature Offering: Osaka-Style Kappou Omakase​​

At the heart of Arakawa’s menu is their signature Osaka-style Kappou Omakase—a multi-course experience that celebrates the seasonal bounty and subtle flavors of Japanese cuisine. Each course is prepared with precision, showcasing Chef Arakawa's skill and dedication to traditional Osaka kappou dining, where the chef personally prepares and presents each dish, creating a direct connection between chef and diner.

  • Kappou Omakase Experience: This omakase journey offers a progression of tastes, textures, and aromas, with each course thoughtfully curated to showcase both simplicity and complexity. Whether it’s the delicate slices of sashimi or the artfully presented small plates, each dish reflects the season’s best ingredients and Chef Arakawa's deep understanding of kappou techniques. Capturing this offering visually and presenting it on social media involved a careful focus on balance and elegance, ensuring each course looked as inviting as it is delicious.


Capturing and Sharing the Ambiance

The restaurant’s design draws from traditional Japanese aesthetics, with minimalist decor that fosters a serene, intimate dining experience. Warm lighting and natural textures create an inviting atmosphere where guests can fully immerse themselves in the culinary journey. Our social media strategy incorporated these design elements to offer followers a sense of calm and authenticity that mirrors the in-person experience at Arakawa.

Working with Arakawa offered a unique opportunity to dive deeply into the nuances of Japanese culinary tradition, presenting it in a way that resonates with both new and seasoned patrons. Their dedication to authenticity, quality, and seasonal freshness is evident in every element of the dining experience, from ingredient selection to presentation, and this commitment is reflected in every piece of content shared on their social media.



This project was a journey into the soul of Japanese kappou dining, capturing the elegance and understated sophistication of a truly immersive omakase experience. It was a pleasure to work alongside Chef Arakawa and his team, developing and managing a social media presence that brought their culinary story to life for a wider audience.
